Acta Via Serica strives to adhere to the following standards and requirements:

Authorship

An author is an individual who has significantly contributed to the development of a manuscript.
Contributions include but are not limited to:

• Conception and design
• Acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data
• Drafting or revising for intellectual content
• Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work including accuracy and integrity

Acknowledgement

The author should acknowledge those who participated in the development of a manuscript but do not qualify for authorship, including organizations that provided funding or other resources.

Conflict of Interest

According to the World Association of Medical Editors, "conflict of interest exists when there is a divergence between an individual's private (competing) interests and his/her responsibilities to scientific and publishing activities such that a reasonable observer might wonder if the individual's behavior or judgment was motivated by considerations of his or her competing interests."

Authors and reviewers have a responsibility to disclose all relevant competing interests that may influence the development of the manuscript, or evaluation of the manuscript, respectively.

Referees may choose to decline to review any manuscript in which they perceive a conflict of interest and individual Acta Via Serica editors will decline considering any manuscript in which they have conflict of interest.

Confidentiality

Acta Via Serica treats all submitted manuscript as confidential material and will not disclose submitted manuscript to anyone except participants in the processing and preparation of the manuscript, including editorial staff, corresponding authors, potential reviewers, actual reviewers, and editors. In suspected cases of misconduct, a manuscript may be revealed to members of the ethics committee in order to resolve the misconduct.

Misconduct

Misconduct constitutes violation of any Acta Via Serica policies or publication ethics. Any other activities that threaten to compromise the integrity of the publication process are potentially misconduct and will be investigated by the ethics committee.

Correction and Retraction of Articles

Acta Via Serica's Editor may make corrections to a published article and will determine the magnitude of the correction. Minor corrections are made directly to the original article. In cases of a major correction, a corrected version of the manuscript will be published alongside and linked to the unchanged, original article, accompanied by an explanation of the change. The Editor may decide to retract articles in cases of misconduct or violation of publication ethics.

Copyright

Submission of a paper is taken to imply that the author automatically agrees that its copyright will belong to Academia Via Serica, Keimyung University upon the article's acceptance for publication.
